You need these mobile apps in order to be able to charge at DC charging station. Some of the charging network operators also provide a RFID card, that is on your request after you signed up using the app. The RFIC card comes in handy where mobile reception is poor.

ChargeFox

Most common EV charging platform in Australia, have the widest geographical spread across Australia.

Charging networks are owned by others, such as RACV, NRMA, city/shire councils, etc.

Another popular EV charging platform, which has plug-and-charge feature.

bp pulse

Owned by BP. Supposedly having EV charging stations coexist with its petrol station. However roll-out has been slow.

JOLT

Multi-tier subscription based EV charging network. Mostly around local shopping village.

Useful if you don't have a garage or parking lot at home to charge, and require regular charging.

Tesla

Specific Tesla Supercharger stations are opened to non Tesla EVs.

Monthly fees let you enjoy lower rate
Idle fees apply

Idle fees is applied when your EV is plugged in to the charging station but NOT charging.

UpCharge

Less popular. Mostly in apartment / commercial buildings.

A turn-by-turn navigation and route planner app, provides reliable navigation, including EV charging stations, and also capable of calculating the range of the user’s selected EV.

Stands for "A Better Route Planner". It allows planning of EV trips, using vehicle model, destination and hit plan to get a full trip plan including charge stops and trip duration.
